Tanya Linney is a Perth born, Sydney based artist. After finishing a successful international modelling career (1992 – 2009), Linney went on to study Textile Design at the International School of Colour and Design and then completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Painting at The National Art School in Sydney (2017 – 2020).

Linney has exhibited her works in Australia and internationally and has been a finalist in numerous art prizes including the Sir William Dobell National Drawing Prize, The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, the Omnia Art Prize, The Waverly Art Prize, Redlands Art Award, The Alice Art Prize and The Fischer’s Ghost Art Award. She was the winner of the Richard Luchesse Abstract Painting Prize and has featured in Vogue Living, Belle Magazine, RUSSH, Pan and The Dream (New York) and The Sydney Morning Herald.

Linney plays with a ritual emphasis on gesture, texture, colour and process and questions ideas of hierarchies between painting, photography and sculpture whilst also elevating the ordinary or non-art object into new realms. Her first solo at KolbuszSpace will be in 2025.
