Pablo Hughes is a multidisciplinary artist working mainly with photography and installation. Hughes investigates decay and renewal, the common place and overlooked: in images always devoid of people but full of the marks we leave behind. While Hughes’ work documents universal global contemporary issues such as climate change, he also minutiaes into more personal ideas of escape, change and transformation.

Hughes was born in Dublin and now lives and works in Boorloo / Perth. His subject matter has been drawn from many countries including Spain which is his country of origin, and his work seeks to link and document cultural similarities into a more connecting and collective narrative.

Hughes has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Photo Media at Edith Cowan University. He has exhibited in important shows and been a finalist in numerous photographic awards. His work has been acquired by Murdoch University Art Collection, Central Institute of Technology, Edith Cowan University Art Collection, City of Bunbury, City of Melville, City of Stirling, Uniting WA. His first solo exhibition at KS in 2025, Eclipsed Imprints was exceptionally well received attracting acquisitions from major collections and widespread recognition.
