Mal Harry’s work questions his own personal biases in the way he observes the world and processes information in relation to how we all observe, respond to and care for the land we live in. Harry considers this from both an individual’s response, through to the cultural systems we take for granted.
“There are many questions to ask about the true value of relating to and analysing the world in tiny, systemized parts. In the other extreme; what practical value is overlooked when processing information through a more expansive and feeling interaction when relating to the space around us or other people?”
Harry investigates these themes in both portraits and landscapes painted in a system of layered paint often on a grid of panels.
Harry’s exhibition at KolbuszSpace Borders of Order in Sept 2021 sold out and his next solo is planned for August 2023.
