Georgia BISLEY

Georgia Bisley is an early career textile artist from Perth, Western Australia creating bold, large-scale hangings primarily of remnant wool and hand dyed linen.
Bisley uses colour, pattern and texture to explore themes of identity and commerce, and is inspired by the monumental works of groundbreaking mid-century textile artist Jagoda Buic as well as leading contemporary textile artists Brent Wadden and Caroline Achaintre.
Bisley was a finalist in the prestigious 2021 Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award, and her first solo exhibition Hyper Real at KolbuszSpace in 2023 sold out, with interest in her practice growing nationally and internationally.
